WCHL Football Stringers

Do you love high school football? Have you ever wanted to try reporting for radio? Are you a student or parent at one of the local high schools and want to help us cover your school’s games on the radio?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions then you might be a perfect fit for a WCHL High School Football Stringer. If you want to be a part of our high school football coverage or promote your local school then let us know today that you’re interested in participating.

Being a stringer is fun and simple. When you’re at a game you’ll report scores and when it’s over you can use your cell phone to conduct a quick post-game interview with a coach. We take care of the rest and you’ll help WCHL cover Orange County high school sports like no one else.

The schools we’ll provide coverage of week in and week out are East Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Cedar Ridge and Orange High.

If you want to get involved, e-mail us at news@1360wchl.com. You can also call us at 919-967-8363.

Students: Get Broadcast Experience For Credit!!

1360 WCHL News-Talk AM Radio Needs News and Marketing Interns.

Are you interested in commercial writing and/or news reporting

We need reporters with flexible hours and close ties to the university and community. Reporters will cover University issues such as Board of Trustee Meetings and UNC’s Board of Governor meetings, community issues, government meetings, politics and more.

Your byline and voice will be included and aired.

Interested in creative writing and acting?

Be creative and write commercials for radio.

Are you interested in social media, marketing, and production? Interns will assist with community and station events, promotions, sports broadcasts and live remotes.

We will provide you with recording equipment and studio use.

This internship will offer great, hands-on-experience that you just won’t get from a classroom. You will walk away from the internship with tangible audio and written pieces for your portfolio.

This is a non-paid position.
