	WCHL Presents Nativity Radio Drama on Christmas 12/23/09 06:05PM

Charles M. Stern says coming up with the right radio drama for Christmas was a tall order.

Stern and OdysseyStage are no strangers to radio dramas, having previously performed the radio version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” last winter. After a couple of read-throughs and modifications, Stern says the group got the right mix ready for this year’s Christmas day performance.

Radio dramas enjoyed immense popularity in the years before television, with such shows as “The Shadow”, “Little Orphan Annie” and “Suspense” captivating listeners. Stern says the medium is still extremely potent.

“A Child is Born” will air at 10 a.m. Friday, with an encore presentation at 5 p.m.
