The Orange County Library will close next month and will reopen in early January at its new West Margaret Lane address, says Director Lucinda Munger.

December 13th is the official date that the Orange County Main Library will shut its 300 West Tryon Street doors. It has spent the past 29 years in its current location.

In the interim, patrons can go to the Cedar Grove Branch in the Northern Human Services Center, the Carrboro branch library at McDougle Middle School and also Carrboro’s Cybrary at the Century Center.

Munger says the wait will be worth it, as the new library will present new features.

A grand opening is being planned for next year’s opening, and Munger says details are to come.
