Blair Pollock, solid waste manager for Orange County says the Thanksgiving holiday shifted their schedule a bit.

The Eubanks Rd. landfill will reopen Friday, and will resume all services such as household hazardous waste collection and mulch sales.

The 24-hour recycling drop-off sites at Carrboro Plaza, Cedar Falls Park, Meadowmont and University Mall are available throughout the holiday weekend.  This time of year, the amount of recycled materials increases, so if you see a site that is overflowing, alert the Orange County Solid Waste Management Department at 968-2788.

Pollock says the holiday season brings an opportunity to recycle even more steel cans.
