Orange County residents wanting to get an H1N1 vaccination can now schedule an appointment by phone, says Donna King, public information officer for the health department.

Residents can now dial 1-888-252-3001 to make an appointment.  Appointment scheduling has been outsourced to a call center service.

Operators will screen callers using the Centers for Disease control priority group guidelines.  Up to 10 lines will be active from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Callers will be offered appointments at both the Chapel Hill and Hillsborough locations.  King adds that once all appointments are full, the service provider will post a message for callers/ Appointments will reopen as vaccine supplies are replenished.

Currently, half day H1N1 clinics are being held during the week.  Once again, the number to call for an appointment is 1-888-252-3001.
