By fall of next year, The Daily Tar Heel will move its offices from UNC’s Student Union to 151 E. Rosemary Street in downtown Chapel Hill.

The student paper needs the additional office space to accommodate more advertising staff. The paper says it has hopes that new content will bring in enough income to support the overhead cost. The board settled on a 10-year lease, and the new space will double the paper’s current square footage to well over 6,000 square feet. Currently, the paper has a news staff of 200 and 30 advertising staff.

General Manager Kevin Schwartz told the paper it is likely that a small presence of DTH will remain in the Student Union.
