In the early hours this morning, a total of four businesses were broken into says Lt. Kevin Gunter of the Chapel Hill Police Department.

Police received a call about J & J’s Deli and Framemakers in Timberlyne.

Officers could not find anyone at the scene.  Reports show a minimal amount of cash was taken from both stores.  At J & J’s Deli, a tip jar containing a small amount of money was also taken.  No other items were reported missing from the scene.

Two businesses at Ram’s Plaza were also broken into. Gunter says all four businesses break-ins are very similar, and a small amount of money was taken.

He says the investigation into all the break-ins is ongoing.  All the crimes most likely took place between 3 and 4 a.m.  If you were in the area or noticed anything out of the ordinary, please call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 968-2760.
