A nice weekend is expected after a week that saw driving rain, flash flood warnings and wind advisories.

Laura Pagano of the National Weather Service in Raleigh says we’re due for some nicer weather.

Most of the week saw flash food warnings for Orange County, and although no power outages were reported, there was some minor flooding in residential areas. Major thoroughfares were slick but without standing water.

Wind gusts up to 30 miles-per-hour will carry us through Friday afternoon before gradually dying down.

Pagano says the weekend is calling for much warmer temperatures with sunny, clear skies. The high will peak in the mid-70s for Sunday. So until then, stay warm and dry.
