Don’t be surprised if you see four F-18’s in the skies over Kenan Stadium just before UNC takes on the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

Michael Beale, assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions at UNC says the flyover adds another element of excitement.

The Marine F-18 Hornet squadron is based out of Beaufort, S.C.  Beale says a flyover has occurred the past several years.  Everything worked out where the flyover would occur close to Veterans' Day, as well as the last home game of the season.

Beale says there is even a Carolina tie to one of the pilots.

The flyover is scheduled to happen one minute before the official start to the game, which is 3:30 p.m.  The squadron will take a practice run Friday sometime between 2 and 3 p.m.
