Youth Flu Vaccination Event
11/12/09 05:00PM

By Danielle Tepper
WCHL Intern

A Youth Flu Clinic for ages 4-18 will take place from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough.

Donna King, public information officer for the Orange County Health Department, says distribution of the seasonal flu vaccine will target the specified age group, though H1N1 vaccines will also be administered.

The clinic is expected to provide about 1,000 doses of the seasonal flu vaccine and just over 1,800 doses of the swine flu vaccine, most of which are in mist form. Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out.

King says that while the health department received enough vaccines to host this youth event, it will proceed with appointment-only clinics for the majority of its smaller shipments.

Saturday’s clinic is free and open for walk-ins rain or shine. For H1N1 vaccines updates, visit the Orange County Health Department’s Web site, or call the Flu Info Line at 245-2479.
