WCHL ReporterLisa Adams Padgett, clinical coordinator at the Kerr Drugs on Highway 54 East, says her store will be well-stocked to ensure that everyone who qualifies for a vaccination will get one.
Due to limited supplies, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have established priority groups for access to the vaccine. Those eligible to receive the vaccine include women who are pregnant, healthcare and medical service personnel, along with people caring for children younger than 6 months of age.
Kerr Drug will offer vaccinations for those 14 and up on Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for getting the vaccine is $19.70.
Padgett adds that Kerr Drug is happy to offer these vaccinations as part of the statewide effort to stop the spread of H1N1.
The Kerr Drug flu clinics are open to adults and teens.
The Orange County Health Department is offering a youth flu clinic for children ages 4 through 18 this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough. For more information call the Health Department’s flu info line at 245-2479.
