Roy Williams admits he owes a debt of gratitude for his new autobiography to co-author Tim Crothers, who helped shoulder the load of writing it.

The book is entitled “Hard Work: My Life On and Off the Court,” and it came out Tuesday. 

Coach Williams had been approached to write a book before, but he said Crothers and UNC Sports Information Director Steve Kirschner had convinced him that the time was finally right.

Coach Williams can turn his full attention back to the hardwood, where UNC will play an exhibition against Belmont Abbey Friday night.  They’ll open the regular season against Florida International Monday, and you can hear Woody Durham’s call of that game right here on WCHL.
