In a couple of weeks, the Carrboro Farmers Market will shorten its hours and start later, at 9 a.m.

Starting Saturday November 7, the market will start later because of the cold winter temperatures, and the difficulty in drawing traffic at earlier times.  Sarah Blacklin, manager of the Carrboro Farmers Market, says the shorter and later hours help business in the colder months.

The market will only run through noon, as it currently does, making the new schedule last only three hours per day.  This is the second year of the market going year-round, and as temperatures plummet, it will be more difficult to draw patrons outside.  However, Blacklin says the delayed hours aren’t just for the comfort of the customers.

Blacklin says they are planning a special pre-Thanksgiving market, with details yet to be announced.
