	Orange Co. Schools Name Principal of the Year 10/19/09 05:14PM By Tony Terrell WCHL News Reporter Jason Johnson, principal of Gravelly Hill Middle School, has been named as the Orange County Schools 2010 Principal of the Year. He says it’s an honor for him to be recognized among the many great principals in Orange County. Johnson has been the principal of Gravelly Hill since 2006 and has been in school administration since 2001. He began is career in education as a keyboarding, computer skills and business teacher in Chatham and Guilford County schools before becoming an Assistant Principal at Stanback Middle School. Jason Johnson is a graduate of North Carolina A&T, and earned his masters from UNC-Greensboro. Since the Gravelly Hill was opened two years ago, Johnson and his team of educators have accomplished a variety of goals that students can be proud of. Now that Johnson has been selected as principal of the year in Orange County, he will now compete with other local award recipients from the central region with the state Principal of the Year to be announced in April 2010.
