The 4th annual Carrboro Film Festival is an event devoted to showcasing locally made films.
Jackie Helvey, one of the founders of the Carrboro Film Festival, says the festival is a fabulous day of film.
The festival will take place on Sunday, November 22nd from 1 to 7 p.m and will be held at the Carrboro Century Center. There is a $5 admission fee and popcorn, candy and drinks for sale.
The festival is split up into three sections with the first two being more family friendly and the third featuring films containing adult content. Cash prizes will be awarded this year for each category, including an audience award.
Any genre of film, from a documentary to a music video, can be submitted for consideration as long as it is under 20 minutes. This year there have been 105 submissions with over 15 hours of film that must be honed down to about two and a half hours. A committee reviews each film and decides which films will be shown at the festival.
Helvey says that each film is judged based on four different aspects, with a possible 25 points in each.
