The University of North Carolina has been recognized as one of the top 25 schools in the National Collegiate Scouting Association, or NCSA, power rankings.

UNC came in at 24th on the list, and was one of five ACC schools listed in the top 25.  Duke, Boston College, Virginia and Wake Forest also ranked highly.

The scores take into account the school’s academic success, athletic success and athlete graduation rate.  For academic success, they take the US News and World Report ranking.  That score is averaged with the US Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings, which measures athletic success. The athletic graduation rate comes from NCAA reports.

The Tar Heels had an academic ranking of 30 and an athletic ranking of 4.  The number that dropped their ranking was athlete graduation rate, which came in at 196.  The first place finisher was Stanford.
