The Chapel Hill Police Department teamed up with UNC, The Downtown Partnership and Empowerment Inc. in Tuesday night’s Neighborhood Night Out.  The event was a success by all accounts.

Robin Clark, community services officer for the Chapel Hill Police Department says the event started with a community walk.

After the walk, participants were treated to a wide selection of food provided by Empowerment.  Residents were treated to everything from hot dogs to banana pudding.

The goal of the event was to bring the community together.  Though event planners brought enough food for five-hundred participants, very little food was left over as over 400 people participated.

Clark says it was amazing to see so many people coming together as a community.

Neighborhood Night Out is an annual event.  This year’s edition hosted the block party that usually follows the Good Neighbor Initiative.
