Turn The Town Pink For Lineberger

Orange County residents are encouraged to participate in the 6th annual “Tickled Pink” event, a fundraiser to benefit the patient and family resource program and the newly opened North Carolina Cancer Hospital.

Mary Seagroves special events coordinator for the Lineberger Cancer Center says the funds raised will serve the one of the most beneficial divisions of the North Carolina Cancer Hospital.

The fundraiser will have two events in the month of October. A Ladies Luncheon on October 27th and on October 28th, the Co-ed Twilight event will be held at the Pope Box at Kenan Stadium.  In the past, “Ticked Pink” has raised money for women’s cancer research, but in celebration of the opening of the new North Carolina Cancer Hospital this month, this year’s proceeds will go towards the new hospital’s Patient and Family Resource Program.

If you can’t make it to either of the two events next month, there are other ways to help.  Residents are invited to join area businesses as they attempt to “Turn the Town Pink”.  Seagroves adds that it’s important for everyone in the community to play a role in raising money for the cause.

If you would like more information on how you can get involved or to view some of the ideas on how to help visit UNC Lineberger dot org and click on events.
