WCHL ReporterTwo more Terpsichorean Club debutantes have been arrested in connection with last Tuesday’s cocaine bust conducted by the Chapel Hill Police Department. The women were found in the scoped apartment only 3 days after the North Carolina Debutante Ball held in Raleigh.
Captain Leo Vereen of the Chapel Hill Police Department says they were both charged with possession of cocaine after consulting with the district attorney.
Sarah Thomas Coxe and Elizabeth Roberts Cogdell are both charged with felony possession of about a gram of cocaine after turning themselves in.
Coxe, who goes by the name Tommi, is a 19 year old freshman from Gatesville, North Carolina. Cogdell, who goes by the name Betty, is a 19 year old sophomore from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Both Coxe and Cogdell were listed as 2009 Terpsichorean Club debutantes. The 83rd annual North Carolina Debutante Ball was held nearly two weeks ago in Raleigh.
Court documents show a confidential informant aided in the investigation. Captain Vereen says the investigation was several months in the making, and isn’t over yet.
