	UNC Protester Reaches Agreement With D.A. 10/01/09 07:11AM By Matt Stradley WCHL Reporter The Orange-Chatham County District Attorney’s Office has reached out to one of the two protesters who entered into an agreement with the prosecution last week.  The four members who chose to go to trial were found not guilty by Judge Joe Buckner. District Attorney Jim Woodall says his office offered a deferred prosecution to protester Michael Bandes. Bandes originally pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.  The charge of trespassing on UNC’s campus against Bandes, as well as Jack Groves, was also dismissed. There are plans to meet and talk with Meredith Dickey, who agreed to pay a fine and perform community service if the charges would be dropped after six months.  That meeting is expected to take place Tuesday.   The seven protesters went before a judge a week ago to face charges after being arrested this past spring while protesting two controversial speakers invited by the campus group Youth for Western Civilization.
