The Hillsborough Campus of Durham Technical Community college will expand classes that offer training in the “green” job field. 

Kelly King program coordinator of the Jobs Now program at Durham Tech says these classes will go a long way to prepare residents for an ever-increasing job field. 

During the fall classes students will be taught a variety of skills everything from how to reduce utility bills by using solar energy to a 10-week course that teaches principals and practices that can help students make sustainable choices. 

Classes start October 5th and some will provide training to enable a student to pursue a career as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED professional.  King adds that Durham Tech is happy to contribute to a market that is gaining momentum. 

The 10-week course will also include guest lectures and field trips to demonstration sites with water catchments and reuse sites.  For more information visit durhamtech.edu.
