Chapel Hill’s own Pa’Lante has been enlisted by the state-wide organization El Pueblo … both share the mission of strengthening the Hispanic community. Youths in Pa’Lante are helping to test the effectiveness of El Pueblo’s awareness campaign about drunk driving among Hispanics.

That’s Pa’Lante founder and director Laura Wenzel. She says the young people in her organization get to give back to the community, while also enhancing their own skills and self-images at the same time.
 
Pa'Lante will also receive scholarships from El Pueblo to attend its annual youth leadership development forum … held March 7th and 8th in Asheville this year.
