Tar Heels Cut NIT Ticket Prices in Half

UNC director of athletic communications Steve Kirschner says ticket prices have been reduced from $40 to $20 for the Tar Heels’ opening game of the NIT Tuesday night.

The Heels are a four-seed in the NIT after a 16-16 regular season.  Unlike in the NCAA Tournament, higher-seeded teams play at home in the NIT, and the Tar Heels will host fifth-seeded William & Mary.

However, home will be on a different hardwood for the Heels.  Because of renovations to the Smith Center, UNC will take on the Tribe of William & Mary at Carmichael Auditorium.  Kirschner says the game should be a real experience for all in attendance.

The Tar Heels and the Tribe will tip off at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday from Carmichael Auditorium.  You can catch all the action right here on 1360 WCHL, starting with our very own Countdown to Tip-Off pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
