Book Says Edwards Wanted On Obama Ticket

A book written by President Obama’s campaign manager says former North Carolina senator John Edwards approached the Obama campaign, hoping to receive a vice presidential nomination during last year’s election.

David Plouffe’s book, “The Audacity to Win,” says that Edwards' senior advisor said that former senator preferred Obama and was hoping the pair could run as a ticket.  Edwards joined John Kerry in 2004 as his vice presidential pick.

Plouffe writes that the conversation took place one week before Edwards quit the 2008 presidential race.
