By the end of this year Kerr Drug will no longer be in University Mall.

Kerr Drug will be opening a new location at the East 54 development.  They will be part of a mixed-use building with offices above them and other retail stores housed in the same building.

Rumors have been circulating that University Mall’s owners were not going to renew the drug store’s lease.  Kerr Drug will be opening a new location at the East 54 development.  They will be part of a mixed-use building with offices above them and other retail stores housed in the same building.

Calls to Kerr Drug’s Raleigh headquarters were not immediately returned.

Ed Camp outgoing general manager of University Mall says Kerr Drug declined to accept the option to renew their lease.

Camp’s last day as general manger for University Mall is tomorrow. He will be the new executive director of the ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Meanwhile, Kerr Drug’s pharmacy will move to East 54 on October 26th when the new store will open.

Ryan Scarborough, durable medical equipment coordinator for Kerr Drug, says the move came from the new owners of University Mall, Madison Marquette.

The University Mall location will remain open without a pharmacy until December 31st.
