Students preparing to begin the fall semester at UNC now have an opportunity to save money on school books. 

The emergence of Cheeg.com has enabled students at UNC to rent textbooks as opposed to buying and in the process, saving over a thousand dollars a year.  

Aayush Phumbra, co-founder of the company, adds that UNC is one of the key universities to utilize the textbook rental Web site.  Students that have used Cheeg.com have saved around 60-percent on textbooks. Textbooks are rented on a semester basis and when delivered, a free postage stamp is included to be mailed back when the book is complete. 

Cheeg.com has over two million textbooks in stock at their California headquarters.  They serve over six thousand universities across the county. Phumbra says this service has grown in popularity over the years and will only get bigger.
