One Chapel Hill landmark will get another run at Franklin Street.  Four Corners will reopen under new ownership.

Steve Woodham, co-owner of Goodfellows and new incarnation of Four Corners, says the bar’s history attracted his attention.

Four Corners was originally opened in 1979 by Art Chansky along with former UNC Assistant Coach Eddie Fogler.  Since they sold the bar in 1984, the bar has changed hands several times, even going through a name change for a while as Woody’s Tavern and Grill. 

Four Corners was the first sports bar in Chapel Hill, and Woodham says it will remain a sports bar. 

Carolina’s football season, along with the crowds on football Saturdays, begins on September 4th.  Woodham says although they will not be open for the first game against the Citadel, they should be open in time for most of the season.

Woodham says he wants to create a fun environment where citizens of Orange County will enjoy relaxing.
