The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of planning to take local business members on a trip to China.

Aaron Nelson, Executive Director of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce said the trip is open to chamber members and is slated for April.

There are 150 seats available for the trip, and Nelson expects it will sell out.

Nelson doesn’t intend for the trip to be a business mission. He says it’s a cultural exchange. He wants Chapel Hill-Carrboro residents to see how the Chinese live and experience cultural icons.

Nelson says the company handling flight arrangements has worked for other chambers across the country.

Nelson himself has never been to China, but is planning his own trip in October. Registration for next spring’s trip should be completed by the start of December.
