Update - Second Gunman Sought

UPDATE 07/22/09 5:07 p.m. -  A second shooter is being sought in connection with the Bright Stone Place shooting last Monday. Witnesses say a 2006-2007 model Ford Focus, silver in color, was shot at by a gunman that came out from between the houses. Police have arrested Kamari Marsh (pictured in this article), who went to Duke Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. 

Kevin Gunter of the Chapel Hill Police Department says the second shooter was in the Focus.

UPDATE 07/22/09  8 a.m. - Chapel Hill Police have charged Kamari Marsh, age 20, with assault with a deadly weapon and going armed in terror of the public.  Marsh is currently being held in Orange County under $15,500 bond. 

 

Chapel Hill Police are asking for the public’s help. A shooting took place yesterday at 5 p.m. at Bright Sun Place just off of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Police are trying to locate an 2006-2007 Ford Focus, silver in color, seen driving away from the scene. Police responded to 105 Bright Sun Place when witnesses say a black male began shooting at the Focus.

Kevin Gunter of the Chapel Hill Police Department says one round shattered the back window of the car, and another bullet went into a residence.  

One of the shooting victims is resting at Duke University Hospital after being shot twice in the leg.

Gunter says they have identified this man as a person of interest.
