Chapel Hill Introduces New Service Fees

Catherine Lazorko public relations officer for Chapel Hill says the town faces minimal changes in service fees compared to other cities and counties.

Chapel Hill will see minimal changes in service fees compared to other cities and counties according to the town’s Public Relations Officer Katherine Lazorko

The start of the new fiscal year means new fees for various services will go into effect. In the city of Raleigh the cost of adding a new water and sewer connection went up $500. In Wake County the pool inspection fee has doubled from $92 to $184.

But for Chapel Hill the only increase is the vehicle license fee which went up from $20 $30. Lazorko says that other charges have been added to the fee schedule such as town embroidered tote bags but that’s because these fees are new not because they have increased. In Orange County has increased the price of a flu shot from $11 to $18.

Lazorko also says that even though the fees for Chapel Hill have not increased she understands that this is a difficult time for all cities and counties.

The new fees went into effect this past Wednesday.
