Officers are investigating an alleged strong armed robbery reported Wednesday and believed to have occurred Tuesday. A man says he was waiting a bus stop at Coleridge Road near Sage Road when a white Chevy Cavalier rolled up and released two white pit bulls that attacked him.

Chapel Hill Police Lt. Kevin Gunter offers some details to this bizarre incident.

The suspect is described as a thinly built black male with dreadlocks and 5 feet seven inches in height. The victim says he was robbed of $115 in the incident. A stranger who has not been identified took the victim to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. With only that to go on, Gunter says police have quite a bit of work to do before any arrest could be made.
